...for the first time ever, I took the neck off my 1993 American Standard Stratocaster and learned a few things about my guitar that I never knew. The neck is dated March '93, while the body was stamped October '93. I knew that the guitar was likely assembled in October, because it was also stamped on the original pick guard (which I no longer have), but the neck date was news to me. Also, there was a stamp in the neck pocket which clearly indicated that the body was designated to be used for an "American Standard" Strat and not a Plus or any other model that used the modern (at the time) Strat body with universal route. The neck pocket area was finished rather sloppily and the butt end of the neck had some tint from the finish on it. She's about ready for a re-fret now, but still has plenty of life left in her.
