Based on the price it should be MIM - the list with a gig bag is $949. If I'm remembering correctly Fender product numbers that start with "014" (like this guitar) were MIM, not MIJ or MIK.

Cool, they are available for a good price even in Europe.
Can anybody confirm they were grey back in 1979? I could swear they were all grey(shaded) when I saw two of them appearing at MP (Musicians Place) in late ´79 here in Hannover, Germany.

Cheers,
Robin

The Antigua paint is growing on me. Didnt like it that much at first, but I'm liking it more and more. It's unique but not garrish, imo. :)

It always looked to me like a re-gurged blend of guacamole dip and vanilla ice cream.

+1 on that.
I have not liked that color at all.
First saw it on a 1978 Fender Telecaster and have not liked it sense.
Please, everyone buy up Antigua guitars

I like the Antiguas but the new ones don't look as good as the old ones!
Dunno why :?:

Well, on the other hand, there were ugly ones in the early days as well. Antigua goes from stunning beautyful to yuk!

Following are two links to eBay Auctions that I have followed
since I sold my 1978/1982 Telecaster two months ago.
These Telecasters are always there, waiting for someone
to take them home and repaint them.

Sorry, but the two in the following links seem more
"Hot Dog Mustard yellow" and "Real Horse Radish Sour Kraut pale" to me

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Vintage-1978-Fender-Telecaster-Tele-Custom-Guitar-RARE-Antigua-Finish-/360459019574?pt=Guitar&hash=item53ed082536

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-1978-FENDER-TELECASTER-BASS-ANTIGUA-FINISH-grlc761-/290717981499?pt=Guitar&hash=item43b0245b3b

But, I will admit that the greyish Strat pictured above within this thread looks real nice,
if it is antigua, then the mustard color has changed since 1978. Toppscore :)
