wont take long to get it how I like it.

Hi somebizarredude: that's a good photo. The fret ends do look a touch on the angular side to me. Have you rounded them out yet? I'd like to see one of your nice photos when they're done. Better still, I'd like to see pix of you doing the job, if you care to share...

Cheers - C

well its been done already, I didnt even think about doing in depth step by step coverage  I tend to forget the world when i get started on projects  . but I will definitely upload some shots later of the dressed and rolled ends. all in all the stainless is actually easier to dress in my opinion, more room for error

for an update, I am now waiting very impatiently for the Nitro to cure on the peghead face so I can wet sand and polish it. Its very hard to not jump the gun here because I badly want to play this thing  so I had my wife hide it from me  I will get it back on July 6th though :D I think 20 days post spray cure time should be fine.
I have a Hi Fi tube amp build I am working on to fill in so its not so bad.
after the polish I will probably let it cure a few more days prior to decal placement.

Man you must have a lot of space to be able to "hide" something for 20 days!

my wife is great at hiding my things from me  so it seemed like a good idea to have her do it  she does it regularly with little things just to mess with my head,
I cannot set anything down without her moving it in another location just so she can giggle while i look for it. especially when I am grilling!
I am a little Scatter brained, I misplaced my fret end file several times while using it

well last night I talked my wife into giving me the neck 4 days early  so i sanded and polished the face and did a pre assembly :D I love this neck and the Pickups!

the pickups are excellent! I am very pleased. with the pure nickel strings they are perfectly balanced. fantastic note separation, very clean and crisp and the alnico v on the wound strings keeps the nickel warmth but brings the volume back up to match the alnico II plain strings :D also the bridge has some tele bite, it wasnt as warm as I had in mind but i think I like this better. its got some serious twang and snap to it

BUT on another note i am glad i did not have enough time to place the decal :/ this morning the mirror polished perfectly flat neck face had some dimples that reappeared  I think I may have sprayed it a little to thick  so I will wait an extra 10 or so days, sand again and hopefully place the decal. I hope there is enough finish left that I don't get to wood

does anyone have any advise for me on this? did I maybe get a bad batch stewmac clear nitro? if its to frustrating I may just strip it and use some epoxy based stuff :|

Hey Some... That guitar is looking nice! I have to say though that the pictures don't do justice to the candy apple red finish. I have that on my American Special Strat and love it!

what kind of wood is on the neck?

Its called bubinga. And there is no finish anywhere but the face of the headstock.

Not sure what I think about a bubinga neck, but that's just my bad personal taste.

The carbon fiber pickguard looks completely badass with that finish, though.
