I decided to continue talking about my partscaster build in one thread instead of posting a new one every time i get a new part

Parts i have in hand:

candy apple red 4lb 6oz alder fender american special body,
Image

highway one bridge assembly and hardware,

Black Plastic pieces ( knobs covers and such)

Fender Kluson Vintage style Tuners,

RS Guitarworks electronics kit,

Waiting on:

the warmoth neck ( long wait  )
Bubinga shaft with dark rosewood slab board, boatneck contour, 10'-16" compound radius and stainless frets.

a set of experimental custom pickups being made for it. "new guy"

an "Interesting" custom decal ( its going to be awesome  )

and I have a new sheet of 2mm carbon fiber headed to a guy for cutting :D
unfortunately the sheet I had at the house had some surface blistering from a nasty chemical spill :? so this one is coming slowly from a supplier in Taiwan..........

I will post updates as things progress.

I am having them made with a custom stagger in a 16" radius to accommodate the Warmoth compound radius . I am also having them "Made" with a lower G magnet instead of pushing it down with a clamp. I am doing something different with the magnet arrangement to. I will be using alnico V for the EAD strings and alnico II for the GBE strings, this is to take out some of the high's on the plain strings due to the stainless frets. the neck and middle will be wound with 42AWG Formvar between 5.5 to 6 k.

Image

and for the bridge I am having an almost flat stagger with a slightly raised D since the strings at the bridge will be near a 20" radius following the compound. I am having it wound to about 9k with 43AWG Enamel wire, this way it will have a fatter crunch but be balanced in volume with the middle and neck.
I figured in the spirit of the different neck wood material and pickguard I would do something different with the pups :D

to me in theory it sounds like it will work great, but we will see. the guy doing it is very helpful and open to anything.

edit: his email is chrisdher@yahoo.com if anyone else wants to give some a try

I love taking chances on Unknown's  he may be a "diamond in the rough"

I was going to try some Chinese GFS pickups for about $80 but luckily I found this guy, and saw his price! lol
USA hand made pickups to your specs for under $100 Is Not bad

Got the neck in the mail today :D it looks nice, I think I am going to like this boat neck back profile. it needs the edges rolled and fret ends dressed a bit but overall it feels well worth the money. from the looks of the frets down the neck I don't think it will need any leveling.

Hmmm...I thought they rolled the edges by default? Fret ends dressed too??

the fret ends may have been a little but i like them pretty rounded off. and i had asked them about rolled edges and the sales person told me they do not offer that, so the board edges are at a 90° angle. fairly sharp.

wont take long to get it how I like it.
