can someone tell me if this pick guard is the exact match for my
new eric c model strat? (I do know it's an 8 hole but not sure if it's a '57') I rather not have to do something silly like drill a hole in the body if I didn't have to, nor do I want to.
thanks.

If your asking if the screw holes will line up, yes, they will.

Actually, the surface area is slightly different in the sense that it is 3 ply laminated which means it is thicker and it has a a contour edge. Further, I don't see the bevel or notch where it meets the truss rod. In other words, I'm sure you can easily and directly mount it, pickups and all and then to the body without any modifications but it being an exact mirror image to your white one, the answer is no.

You're welcome.

sounds like something I can deal with.
one more - when changing the guards I need to obviously remove the 3 pair o screws either sides the pups.
these screws don't f with the height of the pup or I'll have to readjust afterwards, taking into consideration the nano adjustment the diff in 1-> 3 ply will necessitate.
thanking in advance.

I can't see just what you mean.
I assume you mean the point @ the heel of the neck? the bridge end?

To both of your above questions:

Yes, those pickup screws not only mount the pickups to the pickguard but they also adjust the height of the pickups.

To be true to a 57 type pickguard, the pickguard would have a detent in it right at where it mates with the neck at the truss rod adjustment. This little semi-circular indentation is for easier access to turning the truss rod. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

That notch is not needed...The EC Strats have the BiFlex truss rod, which is adjusted at the headstock end.

Agreed but his question (IIRC) was how faithful it was to a 57 pickguard.

Yes to your first question and no to your second one.

A picture isn't really going to help you.

As my personal rule of thumb, I raise all the pickups alternately and equally until the high E side of the pickups are approximately a dime's thickness away from the strings and the low E side of the pickups are approximately a nickel's thickness away from the pickups.
