1. I'm about to get a standard hss strat (all i can afford right now) and for the music i play i have no use for a trem bridge plus i think they knock out of tune easily. So how can i convert or what can i do to eliminate the trem bridge?( i'd like to get rid of it all together)

2. I need some ideas for an aftermarket humbucker thats good punk.

Thanks

I don't use the trem either so I adjusted the bridge flat to the guitar body. You can also make it a hard tail by putting a block of wood behind the bridge in the trem cavity.

OK here we go,
First remove your strings, or at least loosen them all the way. Next, with the bridge setting flat against the body of the guitar tighten the front screws down, but not so far the the back of the bridge comes up from the body. Next step, turn the guitar over and tighten the two screws that hold the spring claw down two complete turns. And finally, tune your guitar. if you find this creates some buzz you'll have to raise the string sadles ever so slightly. Now all of these adjustments may or may not change your intonation which you'll have to reset. If you don't feel comfortable doing all of this on your own a guitar repair shop will charge you about $45 to $75 to do it for you. however keep in mind that they'll keep it for a couple of days. Hope this helps. B
