That's a Deluxe Tele, right?

Dunno.......

I like the traditional look with standard Pickguard more...
Just a matter of taste.

The funny thing is: I don't hesitate to put humbuckers into Strats, but with Teles I'm kinda ... konservative. 2 SCs, that's it.

Strange, isn't it??

Why can I modify Strats with no limits but as far as Teles are concerned, there's only ONE CONFIGURATION I consider a REAL TELE????

Musicians/guitarists must be crazy to some extent, right?
At least I am, and I have no logical explanation!

I´ve got the same guitar, except for the rosewood fingerboard. In Brazil, there are only 3 of them, including mine, painted on this factory-original colour. I´m gonna learn how to post photos in here and, soon, I will show you the guitar.

Wow, this "Surf Pearl" is even better than my Surf Green Stratocaster.

Congrats! Never seen this before.

Cheers

Smokin' Frets,

I've had similar questions about this guitar, ever since I found mine a couple of years ago, via craigslist. I jumped on it. I bought it from the original owner. He said he bought it new himself at a local GC in 2002. It had been in it's case under his bed for a few years and he was clearing his collection to raise funds for a new baby.
I immediately liked the finish, and had never seen one like it. Upon research online after getting home. I've found very few with the same finish. Mine is exactly like yours in your photos. Same finish, pickguard, Texas special pickups, rosewood fretboard. I love it.
He told me it was sold to him new as a 'Factory hot rodded' guitar with Texas Special pickups, along with the unique Pearl Green finish. Your information, as well as the other comments here seem to support that. A true Fender factory hot rodded issue. Cool.
I still have only seen a few online, for sale or not.
I'm glad you posted your question.
I'll try to get some photos taken and uploaded here soon.

Not Surf Pearl, but here's my Seafoam Green custom ESP:

I haven't actually taken my own photos, but this showcases the color really nicely. ;)

Please excuse the zombie thread dredge but... wow... I can't believe there are not more of these around. I bought mine around Feb 2019. It's a Player Series MIM, a discounted one from Guitar Centre in San Francisco. Took it apart, packed the body in my check in luggage, the neck in my carry-on backpack, and flew back with it to New Zealand. Never seen this finish before and haven't seen another since. A month or so ago it had a Warmoth neck upgrade.
