By the way, when did Eric Clapton use Strats with Lace Sensor pickups.
Yeah, of course, his original signature guitars had three Lace Golds. He only switched over to the vintage noiseless in 2000 or thereabouts.

Thanks. I was never a Clapton fan, so I did not know about
Lace Sensors and Clapton, until recently.

Any other well known guitarists who use Fender Stratocasters with Lace Sensors?

Thanks. Toppscore :)

Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy and James Burton have used Lace Senors.
The Edge and Brad Wirford have both used Clapton Strats with Lace Sensors at one time or another.

The Story of the Clapton Strat is an interesting one. You can find the complete story in the Fender CS book. It's a great reference book as well as a detailed history of the FCS.

I bought a 98 Clapton for no other reason than I love the 7UP Green colour! I like to play it though, the soft-V neck feels great, and I enjoy the endless tones from the mid-boost and the Gold Lace pups. Forget the signature, it's just a great Strat all around.

I have a 88 body that has the big open cavity and the modern bridge, I have Don Mare Super Sports hand wounds in it, Great Pup's!!! I still am not convinced with the modern bridge. It's steelier... :? Thats the only way i can describe it. It could be the open square cavity in the body standard in 80's Plus's also though huh :?: being a open square as against the vintage set up being pup shaped 3 cavities sort of. I can notice the less resonant sound unplugged too to my other vintage style bodies and bridges i'm sure of it :?

Totally agree. I had to wait a month to get one in Candy Green (7-Up green). It's the most versatile guitar I own.

Thanks, Paris. Definitely. I'll look for the Fender CS book.
I have a custom shop amp. Two reasons to read that book.
Thanks. Toppscore :)

I have a 1991 or 1993 strat ultra, with blue-gold-dually red lace sensors and the LSR roller nut. I have NEVER wanted any other guitar: it is the smoothest, easiest to play guitar I've ever experienced, the lace sensors give great tones and distortion/sustain, and due to the weaker magnetic pull of lace sensors, string noise is less and palm muting less critical.

You forgot Pete Townshend, Gerry McGee, Nokie Edwards and Billy Corgan.
