I got my new 2012 American STandard strat a few weeks ago. It's my first Fender. It had some buzzing on a few of the frets when I got it which I chalked up to humidity changes when shipping. I took it in to my luthier for a setup and string change. I got it back and now it's even worse. I have buzzing on nearly every fret and kind of a rattle sound when i'm straining major chords. Is this how all strats are? Did luthier do a $@!&#* job and I should take it back or is there a problem with the guitar and should i return for a refund while I still can?

Isnt part of a setup making sure it doesn't buzz? Given that a lot of things can cause "buzz", but aside from making sure the neck has the right bow, the frets are even and crowned and that the nut is cut correctly (depth and angle), i would think that the tech would ask your playing style. If you play light, you can get away with lower action on a Strat, if not you may wanna go a tad higher. All i can tell you is that if I paid for a setup and it was worse when i got it back.......feels like i should either get another setup at n/c....or a really good explanation.
just my 1 cent.

Hope it gets better for ya.

All the best,
rob

The setup person should at least whisper in your ear while they are scre.....errr... I mean, yes, take it back and ask them to do it properly this time. :!:
