Can anyone tell me where the post is on modifying the powerhouse strats' active midboost circuit from 12dB to 24dB?

I've searched everywhere and can't fine it.

I've searched too, and I pulled up 2 wiring diagrams of both the Clapton and the Powerhouse. It looks like the Powerhouse has only 2 resistors attached to the mid boost pot and I assume both of them need to be removed. Values for those resistors are 47kcf and 24 kcf. On the Clapton Diagram, the resistors are not on the mid boost pot.

Do those resistors lower the value of the boost? I'm quite interested in shifting the boost from low mids to high mids. I'm finding the clapton boost particularly useless for clean lead sounds, i suspect its down to the boost lying in the lowmids.

I'm not sure but I feel a really strong urge to get a Jim Root tele with active pickups!

EMG pickups are totally different from the powerhouse and or the Clapton. Great guitar from the looks of it.

Really? I had the Clapton and it sounded decent clean with the boost all the way..a bit noisy. Those resistors keep it at 12db, I'm assuming. Without those, they'll be all out 25db. If you want the resistors, I can get it to you hopefully by next week as I'm going to do the mod after holiday.

Thought I'd tag onto this post being about a mod to a powerhouse, hope the OP doesn't mind:

I have a 2006 Powerhouse strat. Although I love the sound. I have a question about upgrading pickups. I'd like to get some blue lace pickups. how do I order them for this guitar? I know the mid pickup is not reverse wound due to having the dummy coil on this guitar.

What other mods do I need to make to get lace pickups to work on this active system?

Thanks in advance!

I think they should be standard just like changing pickups on any guitar. I don't think you need to make any other mods to make it work. Hopefully its straight forward. The wiring diagram would probably be similar to Buddy Guy's American made signature as he has lace sensor pickups with the mid boost.

unfortunately the Buddy Guy guitars do not include the dummy coil in the wiring, so I wonder if it's even needed for lace pickups!?

ooops, I forgot to tell you that's the wiring without the dummy coil as the blue lace sensors could do without the dummy coil due to the blue laces having low noise anyhow. Have you looked into the EMG David Gilmour DG-20 set? It has the spc mid boost and exg expander. You can get amazing sounds out of that thing with little noise. It comes loaded and prewired with a pickguard. Only mod I can think of is extending the 9v battery clip wires and feed it through the grounding wire hole to the back of the guitar with the trem springs to leave the 9v there.
