Was wondering if anyone had experience of these?
I heard about them but seem to be having trouble tracking down any retailers. How do they perform?, are the blades offset to any degree? if not and they are inline, what's the advantages??

One company about 20 yrs ago came up with a plastic, staggard, multiblade pick, but it didn't catch on.

Don't forget that a multiblade pick has been around forever. It's called your hands.

Great if you have all 4 fingers and a thumb......I don't!

after a LOT of searching came up with this, http://www.twinpicks.com/movies.html.
Would like to hear from you pro's, to me made the acoustic sound a little 12 stringish and added some sustain to the electric.

Plenty of places still stock Sharkfin Plectrums. They caught on quite well.

Twin Picks was an interesting website. While I have no experience intentionally playing a dual bladed pick I've played some old celluloid picks so long that they split in the middle of a song and made for some interesting sounds.

Why not just glue a spacer between 2 of your existing picks and see what happens?

I use double picks...
Years ago I found one called a triplet on vacation--I took it as a novelty and only bought one--got home and found out I loved it--it is now very worn as I never saw them again until recently--way overpriced on eBay.

I later found Stash picks--they ave a double pick--but they work differently, and while they're okay--I did mod some with double sided foam in between the picks. But I prefer thick picks, and these were mediums.
But Stash was cool to deal with and they sen me some free picks. But they appear to be out of business.

I saw the twinpicks site on another site and checked it out--I'd try them out if I saw them.

but I've taken to making my own with a 1.00 mmm Tortex triangle pick and a 1.14 mm Tortex regular size pick (I experimented with different picks--this was my favorite combination.)

All the ones I have have offset picks. A friend of mine tried making his own and didn't offset them--it didn't work as well.

They work great for some things--they make a guitar sound fuller, almost a 12 string effect, when playing clean.
When you go for distorted sound, they add dirt--in a good way.

Maybe not for everybody, but I love using them.

If I had made it in the music industry one of the pick companies would be making my signature double picks. But I didn't, so they don't. I make my own.

Hey thanks for that, I was starting to think I had asked a really stupid question. I have ordered a couple of Twin Picks but I am sure they are inline...like you I can't see how they make a great difference unless offset. Going to follow your lead and try to make my own. I cant fingerpick due to 1 and 1/2 fingers missing, so thought this might offer a different slant on my playing.

I don't know if they're easier to hold, they may be for you.

But they are different.

And clappedout, the Twinpicks look offset to me, but I guess the proof will be when you receive them.
