Just got home from the local (family owned) music store. I got a TREMENDOUS deal on this guitar!. It's The American Special Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red. I really had no idea what I was getting until I got home and checked out youtube and the fender website. So glad I got this model! With this 3 day weekend coming up you know what I'll be doin

Well, I really had no idea what I was buying! I had an acoustic on lay-away and decided I really wanted a Strat, I never thought it would be in my budget. I went to the store and played a few MIM models and wasn't ready to let go of the acoustic in lay-away, but there was just an unresistable urge to let the acoustic go and get a Strat.
I went back to the store and asked if they would let me swap. The showed me the American Special and it was right in my budget, and the color was breath taking, so I brought it home. Told my wife she's gonna need to find somewhere else to sleep for the next couple of nights! LOL

This thing is AWESOME! I love it and it plays like a dream. I would recommend it to anyone for any genre of music. I have been using it clean thru a generic amp, it sounded superb at all tone / volume levels. It has the classic Strat tone and with the Texas Special p/ups it has that added bite. The neck plays really nice it has the jumbo frets which is a personal favorite. Last night I was able to add my digitec processor and WOW! Now, I'm no Eric Clapton or Carlos Santana but I felt like it! It's my first REAL Strat and I haven't the expereince to tell you which model is best but I know I got a real winner with The American Special. Go get one you wont regret it.

I have done lots of research on the http://www.fender.com webstie and youtube about it, and that just confirmed to me I made the right choice and I'm glad I was able to pick it up. Not sure how to add pix of it here on the forum - sorry.
