:?: Subject: Dealer promotional model ??

Hello,
I am trying to find any information on what I believe to be a 1991 or there about ,dealer promotional Fender Stratocaster. The guitar is white with a all black neck and head stock, says Fender and Stratocaster on the head. For the lack of a better description it looks a lot like a Kramer Baretta only in the body. One pick up and volume nob, no pick guard. The serial number is A 029093 From the serial number my assumption is that it was most likely manufactured in Japan. This guitar is for sale in a local guitar store. Before I plunk down my hard earned money I want to know more about it . It is in very good condition, but there is no case.
Thank you very much for your guidance and direction.

Thank You,
John Maden

I was in a dealer in South San Francisco a couple of weeks ago and he was showing me a dealer demo. He said something about the S/N but I don't remember what. Evidently Fender makes these prototype axes for their reps to take around and gauge interest. Then they sell them off cheap. The colors, pup configs, pick guards, hardware and such are all mixed up in very non-standard ways making them truly one of a kind instruments. Don't know what your dealer was showing you or how much he was asking but you should be able to knock him down on price since he probably didn't pay as much for the "dealer" axe as he did for his other stock.
