I was cruising Guitar Center's used gear section and I saw a Texas Roadhouse Strat for $350 + $9 shipping + tax.... Wow... what a great deal ....

White with brown tortoise shell pickguard

I have been in the market for a strat for a while now and this one fits the bill perfectly...

Kudos to GC....

NGD is today...

Get it. Great guitars. Anything Fender is good.
Can you name a bad Fender guitar?

I already purchased it... just needs to be sent to me, Tuesday UPS arrives

Only bad thing I can say bad about Fender is I had a MIM bass couple years back that had a twisted neck, and some of the chinese Squier Strats I have played are pretty junky....

But for the most part, Fender is good stuff, I think the Mexican guitars these days are an incredible deal...

If you buy Fender dealer direct, any Fender guitar
has a lifetime warranty for the original owner.

Try to get older Squires. Most any MIA MIM MIJ Squire guitars are getting
rave reviews that past few years. Even Korea is putting out good guitars.
But, watch out for Chinese at this time.

It took Fender quite a while to build up the MIJ, MIM & Squire products from bad raps.

What's wrong with the Chinese ones? I have a 2011 Squier Bullet and it's pretty beastly. I guess there are some rough ones that come out due to quality control, but mine was great.

I didn't say they were all bad.... Most are fine... I have just seen some ones in the pawn shop that have crooked necks and made with less than desirable parts/wood....

I recently played a Jaguar from China w/p90s at GC that sounded and played very nice...

I would rather have a $65 guitar with a a $1000 amp than a $65 amp with a $1000 guitar...

if you can get them set up to your liking, and with a good amp, you'll get the tone you want... The rest is up to your fingers, practice, and talent...

I do not have a Chinese guitar to compare.
I said to "watch out" because I have read comments.

Bottom line, to me if it is Fender, should be good.
Should be guaranteed.
The wood should be high quality. Just the add on stains, paint, gloss,
tuners, nut, bridger, pickups, wiring, potentiometers, etc
are what you get different at each Fender guitar's price level.
Fender wood is considered awesome for productions guitars.

Hope this helps. Toppscore :)

Also, every level of guitars from Fender will probably have 95% goodness.
as well as 5% that are either extremely superb or discardable.

Eh, it happens . After all, this is the Strat forum. It's not completely off-topic. ;)
