The 60 shows that the guitar is a 60th anniversary model all guitars built during the 60th ann. had that little diamond with a 60 on it.

the highway-1 series of strats are just begging to be modded, however they are also great right out of the box.

as far as finding a tone you like, really depends on what your plugged into, the Hwy has the potential right out of the box to give you great tone!!!

Leave the guitar alone and look into FX, Amp, and the Amp settings to get the tones you want.

to help good transfer of tone you could have a bone string nut made. I don't know if the nut on your guitar is bone or plastice but a bone nut would help sustain as well. Tusq, Graph Tech and slip-stone nuts are good for trem users as they are slippery and help tuning issues. And then you have White bone and vintage bone. The first thing I do on any new guitar is make a bone nut for it if it came with a plastic look a like.
