:?

You know that the info is on the support page, but you don't like it, or didn't bother to look at it?

___Pickup Style__________Bass Side_________Treble Side
Noiseless™ Series--------8/64" (3.6 mm)------6/64" (2.4 mm)

http://www.fender.com/support/articles/stratocaster-setup-guide

This is just a guide, not a must. You should adjust to suit your own taste. Want less bass, lower the bass side of the pup. More treble, raise the treble side of pup. If pups are too close to the strings, it will affect the string vibration. If pups are too far away from the strings, they will sound weak.

thanks shim- i did read the info, but wasn't sure if the same info applied to all the noiseless pups, or just the vintage, etc.

again - thanks 8)

btw - isn't 8/64 the same as 1/8 ?- takes me back to my grade school math-always use reduced fractions

Because of the way the magnets are positioned with SCN's, you don't get get wolf notes from having them too close.

The magnets are of opposing polarity. Just the same as a humbucker, they don't pull the strings.

Great pickups, much maligned by those that want all their pickups to sound the same.

I know, it's weird, maybe a machinist thing? I'm still looking for a ruler with 1/10ths of a mm markings....not that I could see them, but still.

I love the SCNs I installed in my 2009 MIM Standard, but I still set them lower than recommended for best tone (to me).

Bass Side Treble Side
Neck 10/64" 9/64"
Middle 11/64" 10/64"
Bridge 9/64" 8/64"
