Hey, Kids-- In trying to get as much "vintage" out of the Vintage Noiseless pups on my Dlx Plyrs Strat, I'm usin' the tip that I've heard from some of you, and tweaking the pickup height- seems to be a big help, at least to my ears.
I'm wondering if switching to 100k tone pots, and maybe changing the cap., might buy me a little more of the high end/ clarity/ brightness that I'm lookin' for. I see that the VN replacement pup set comes with 3 pots (100k, from what I've heard) as well as (a) replacement cap(s) (?).
I also see that the Amer. Dlx (I know- SCNs or N3s, but the same idea, I think) wiring diagrams show 1 meg pots as standard...
I know that I'll never get a true, vintage single-coil sparkle out of these pups, but the closer I get, the happier I'll be- and,for what it's worth, I'm already REAL happy with this guitar, all things considered.
My knowledge of electronics is barely rudimentary, so any input I can get from you guys would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

3 -1meg tone pots and a .1uf cap for the vintage sound with those pups. maybe a .047 cap for the '63 -'65 sound. they sort of grabed the caps they had off the shelf. sort of a mix and match thing.

For best results with those pickups, use all 250K pots and a .047uf cap. You will however, have to reset their heights once again.

Question Martian if you wish, you'd be an utter fool to dismiss his advice off hand.

Personally I think the only thing you can do to vintage noiseless to improve the sound is to hit em with a big hammer and throw em in the bin.

Thank you and frankly, I have absolutely no use for them either.

Not tryin' to question ANYBODY'S advice, especially having admitted that electronics is not my thing. I've read this forum enough to know that Martian is extremely highly regarded (not to mention a fellow N.J dweller).
Just reflecting on the irony of getting advice that's so disparate...
