For this guitar an EMG 81 with master volume and tone/push-pull SPC boost is just right.

You'll need to perform some major alterations in order to fit the Floyd Rose trem correctly.

Suhr uses the Gotoh Floyd Rose bridge on his Moderns, so can yours! :)

Amazing how you know so much about a guitarist's little details.
Right now I have a Fender Super Telecaster ready to come out of the shop.
When I procure the special pickup, I will contact you to get these little suggestions
to share with my guitar tech. Toppscore 8)

I've had a love/hate relationship with Lace Sensor since the '90s, but I'm really digging the Rainbow pack, Purple(B)/Silver(M-RWRP)/Emerald(N). Especially the Emerald neck, and the in-between positions. Worth a try if you've been on the fence.

Rainbow sounds good. How 'bout a "Pot of Gold"

Is there a place/link that shares the information on all of the Lace Sensor Pickups?
Maybe a bit of sound samples???

Given their former relationship with Fender I don't want to post a link but if you google "lace sensor" it will take you to Lace's website. It has descriptions but no sound samples.

There are tons of sampling videos on YouTube!

The Emerald sensor is supposed to mimic the Texas Specials.

Since we are on the topic of SRV and the Emerald Laces, below you will find a 1990 Antique Burst Strat Plus I customized a while back. NECK and MIDDLE pickups are EMERALD LACE SENSORS, which was designed to give that hot SRV Texas Special sound. BRIDGE pickups are a PURPLE DUALLY LACE SENSOR. Designed to give a P-90-type tone. With two side by side you have the dual P-90s or run either of them as singles with the mini-switch. I just finished building a Mystic Black Plus with a Green/Light Blue/Blue.Red Dually which I will post sometime soon.

I get that, but I actually think they do their own thing. Very responsive, nice full response.

Law Daddy.
Do you use the Lace Sensor Pickups to emulate other/older guitar sounds?
or do you use Lace Sensor Pickups for unique sounds/different tones?

Umm, do not have any SRV cuts handy but here is a quick take that was done with this guitar that is more of a ballad style. It was recorded with a digital point and shoot Nikon camera so the sound is not too clear.

And this one was recorded the same way on a small digital camera, but I was playing a Ultra guitar: A little DG spoof:

Here's a clip of my '94 Jerry Donahue Tele with an Emerald in the neck.

I do like the "close to SRV" sound on this second link. Thanks.

***BTW, slow solo is cool.

I'd say yes, they are out of style.

That being said, my #1 is a 1989 Eric Clapton Strat w/ stock Lace Golds. I think they have a beautiful singing sound but they are just not (IMO) very authentic, especially when adding grit. Don't get me wrong, I love my guitar; but if I wanted super authentic, balls-out 1954 tone, I would look elsewhere. If you're trying for those huge Journeyman/24 Nights RAH leads, you've arrived at the right pickups. Here are some of my favorite YT clips of EC Strats that IMO exemplify what Lace Sensors really sound like. The solos are hand-picked by me as some of my favorites:

EC at RAH, 1991:

EC in Italy, 1996:
