Hi all. I just acquired a Fender Select HSS strat....a beautiful guitar indeed. Was wonder what a good starting point is for setting the pickup height for the Fender Select single-coil and Select humbucking pickups in this strat. The owners manual doesn't specifically address these pickups. Thanks for your replies.

Space the distance between the polepieces and the strings about the thickness of a dime on the high E side and a nickel's thickness on the low E side and take it from there as all pickups have their 'sweet spot', height wise.

I bought mine last year and I must say what a wonderful playing guitar it is.As far as pickup height I left mine to factory specs because it sounded so good.I did readjust the saddles and bridge height (very minor).I use a slightly heavier string 9.5 instead of the 9 set recommended.These minor adjustments did not require me to move the pickups.I use the tremelo a lot and this guitar's intonation is rock solid.This is one of the best guitars I've owned, kudos to Fender for a job well done.
