Found my PERFECT Strat.....Finally!!!

Hi all, just got my first strat

It's a MIJ 84 - 87 E series Hardtail in Olympic white. It is in UNPLAYED CONDITION and has the plastic on the pickguard. I payed £655 with haed case. Just thought I'd share this with you as I would like your thoughts on it. To me it is on a par with my 1994 MIJ 52 Reissue Tele.

You can't beat Olympic white Strat with a rosewood fretboard, lovely!

It's taken me about 5 years to find an Olympic white Hardtail strat, didn't know if there was even such a thing. Goes to show if your patient enough and scan the web EVERY SPARE minute you got, you can find what you want. Loving the neck pup on it. very nice and smooth. Also the fact it was made 28 years or so ago and it was unplayed is just amazing. Think I got a bargain actually. Lools like there werent many of theses made and are becoming VERY collectable.

Very nice mate, and in unplayed condition, unbelievable.
The eighties MIJ Fenders are great. I bought my E8..... in 88 new.
It looks a bit like yours apart from the trem, and I don't thinks mine's Olympic white.
Yours looks like a keeper, congratulations.

Yeah, great sounding pups. Would love to know more about the guitar though. From the seriel number I found out it was made between 84 - 87 in the Fuji-gen plant in Japan but thats it. It weighs 7.7lbs and is AWESOME!!!

Pretty light ! Got one '69tele thinline RI ( MIJ ) from the same period (about -84-86) that I bought year ago. I guess it has been used , but that is not easy to spot! Nearly mint , I would say. Except that I recently changed the neck pup to a Di Marzio twang king. After that it became my no.1 guitar. All mahogany/natural - weighs 6,6 lbs. Good luck w your new 'friend' !

Yes mate, all stock. The "Contemporary 22", also from Fuji Gen Gaki they had the Kahler Spyder trem. It's a bit of an oddity.
I'm sure you have indeed found your perfect Strat, well worth the wait, no doubt.
