Just use a soft clean lint free cloth.

The Gibson Pump polish in the orange bottle? Label says that it's safe for all finishes. I didn't know if that was true or just aggressive marketing. It's safe for nitro?

I use a microfiber cloth after each use for years. With every string change I use Clayton Carnuba Wax for the last 2 years. No issues yet.
