It's a Fender that was licensed to be made by a luthier named Giannini in Brazil. Real Fender, real strat.

Can't read Portuguese but here's a message board in Brazil talking about the Southern Cross: http://forum.cifraclub.terra.com.br/forum/3/54421/

Do some web searches for Fender by Giannini. That should help.

anybody who wants to read in english i ran it through google translate

Alo staff ... I tried several things on the net about this Fender. I have a vermelhinha, some others say something other ... I can say is that it is an excellent tool.
Mandei an email pra pra Giannini learn more about my "daughter" and got this:

Dear André.

Thank you for contacting us. The Southern Cross Fender guitars made by Giannini in the period from 91 to 94, an average of 6 thousand per year. They have to be manufactured by Giannini because of the "cost Brazil" which at that time was too high, leaving other markets as chorea, mexico, etc., More attractive to a Fender of point-of-view financially. If not mantivéssemos the quality control, not so many years we would be producing them, or they would be seen as well in the market, widely discussed in forums and Web notóriamente better than those made in those other countries cited.

They had body in cedar, arm in ivory, and all hardware original Fender made in the original templates Fender under audit of the company americana.

Love,
