I would like to thank everyone here for all of the wonderful advice and comments.

I pulled the trigger and I think I will be happy, and like others said, I can take it back to
my local GC and get a full money refund within 30 days ( I thought that was only when
you bought something new? ).

Its funny now how when I do a search there are MANY with two 7's in a row, but many
are deluxe models that they want 450 bucks for and so for now, I will be happy with
my 6 guitars. My 7th guitar will be a made in USA Ovation with two 7's in a row !!!

So my Breedlove 12 string does not have a 7 and is the only guitar I own that does not
have one, but it plays really well and stays in tune for months on end.

Strange how I have my things for a 7 but at least it keeps me from buying a lot more stuff !! LOL

I'm not getting the reference to 7 either... :?

OP on this link you pasted of this guy working on a Les Paul....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZHI4dpkc14

I personally would not use his recommendations on techniques and whatever's.
Not to be overly critical but if you are going to post vids on maintenance and setup on U-tube
The profanity, the badmouthing of products or suppliers is unnecessary and needs to be left out. (The rant about plastic is rather amusing and totally misses the point of vintage guitars.
Yes... the plastic does age and eventually wear out, but what was available in the 50's, 60's was then appropriate and still is if you are going to restore an old guitar. )
Personal biases have no place in any informative piece.

I do like the bottle of Ronsonol lighter fluid on the workbench.
Couldn't think of anything more volatile then that to have near soldering, flames and electrical conduits....Brilliant.

Short point is if you need advice on maintenance and guitar set up than just go to the qualified sources like Gibson or Fender or the many tech sections from suppliers.....

The reference to the number 7 is just a quirk I have, all of my guitars have the number 7 or two 7's in a row in the serial number.

As far as the guy who fixes guitars, I just said to go to the certain part about linseed oil and if that guy uses His right to free speech, I have no control over him. So your asking me to either edit and beep out parts of a video I post....I guess you dont watch much tv or movies that are rated R. So I asked for advice on how to treat my neck and all you really came back with was a complaint about a video and no info about what
I had asked. I did not ask you to watch the whole thing, I mentioned the spot in the video by minute so you could fast forward to that one spot where he talked about linseed oil, I really did not need to have someone tell me not to upload a video as ONE person thought it was crude or rude. OVERLY CRITICAL is underscoring what you did, without giving me any advice except dont do what the video guy did. Instead it would be nice to post a link of proper GOOD technique, and teach something.

I dont think I would want to bring my strat with a rosewood neck ( my first one ) to a luthier to have him clean it and treat it and charge me money for doing it. Many things are for sale for self home use, and I was just asking others who have more experience then I about what they use.

1st...Enough with the free speech, everytime a repost runs counter, the reply is the free speech
standpoint. It's quite irrelevant in this context.

2nd..You seem a bit sensitive, you posted a link, I watched about a 1/3rd, then commented on what I heard and saw...Nowhere in my response did I mention or suggest that you edit his video, I merely pointed out that his approach isn't very professional and I would not consider his advice since much of it runs counter to the norm.

3rd...As far as Linseed Oil versus lemon Oil, the reason for using lemon oil is that at the same time as you treat an ebony and/or rosewood neck, the lemon or rather citrus acts as a degreaser/cleaner and therefore cleans off that nasty sweat/dirt/body oil residue which accumulates over time on a fretboard.

4th...As far as sound advice, I posted earlier in this thread links to my builds which are multiple pages with plenty of both pics and procedures as I built/rebuilt my Strats...
I did not see any point in re-pasting sections and using up Forum space.
On this point you should also go to The Nutter's compilation Build thread, which contains builds by A-Big-Hair, Martian, Xhefri, Ceri and a host of others equally educative build's and how to's, in the sense that each time anyone rebuilds/builds a guitar, there are certain problems encountered along the way, all of us have varying methods of solving these problems.

5th....As for your last point, I have been rebuilding most of my guitars since I was 15, which still at this point I often seek advice from a real Luthier like Matt D'Ambrosio or one of the reputable Techs in my area, since no one knows everything and certainly not I...
So You can go out and buy tools and experiment if you wish, however just because you read the how to does not guarantee success. ( I say that from past experience of having done it and being completely unaware that there were certain tiny details that were critical to the task at hand.)

Lighten up a bit, you came on this Forum, asked a few questions, received a few answers you didn't like and took it personally.... :?
This isn't a hazing/roast Forum, It's about Q and A's and accepting the answer.. IF it isn't the correct one, one was expecting, one just simply asks the question in either more detail or in another form, not with a response you just gave..

If that isn't welcoming enough, then try another Forum...
