Looking to buy a Blacktop HH Series Strat with the Floyd Rose.
Looking for thoughts and opinions on this guitar.
I have never had a Floyd Rose, do they keep in tune reasonably well, do you break strings easily with a Floyd Rose?
Is changing strings on a Floyd Rose more difficult?
Again, newbie here so the questions probably seem wierd, trying to learn though.
Thanks for your time,
Rick

Hey Rick,

Yes, divebombs, throwing down the stairs, no matter what..

No, never happened to me, you need to change the strings more often (depends on how much you use the Floyd-stretching the strings)

Yes, there are some tricks to learn i.e. blocking the Floyd when changing strings/string for string change. You can deck the Floyd as well.

Cheers,
Robin

I actually played one of these for the first time about two weeks ago. Loved it. Strat body with humbuckers was a great idea. Of course the first thing I did when I picked it up was divebomb and the Floyd was great. Highly recommend it.

I own one and I can bomb and climb and it returns back to pitch each time. Of course I had it set up and intonated by my tech first at the time of the sale. I was going to change the Floyd Special to a Floyd Pro, but the Special is pretty good for what I need it for.

I bought it as a project guitar and changed the electronics. But before I did it was a decent guitar for the price. Now it is starting to become my go to guitar. I would have preferred a satin finish on the back of the neck, but a few swipes of .000 steel wool solved the sticky feeling when playing.

Play one and see if you like it. I was sold after playing mine. Also look on YouTube and you can find some reviews on it there.
