Hi all, I need quick advise!
How much is the value of a 50th Anniversary Golden Edition Stratocaster, these days?
(from 2004, let's admit it's mint)
Many Thanks ;)

I paid $450 for one in mint condition at a local music shop last year. I love it and would never part with it, especially after the deal I got. There are a couple on eBay for 2 and 3 times what I paid.

Badscooter...if you got one for $450 you got a deal and a half. I haven't seen one for less than $675 on either E-bay or CL!

Karamba...They are great guitars...I love mine, bought it new in 2004, walked into the guitar store and there it was...HAD a GAS attack and walked out with it, I have the specs on if you need too...here is a little guitar porn for ya!

Yeah, I don't think the guy in the shop knew what he had. He had it listed at $500, but told me he'd take $450. I got home and looked them up on eBay and found them for as much as $1,400. Goldie got me hooked on '50s style Strats. The only guitar I like better is my Blackie.

Karamba, are you looking to sell or buy?

I may get one for about €500...But I'm not sure I'll keep it, I would like to know if they will become more valuable so I won't loose money.

I just made a quick research in CL, you can find several at $450:

First off those you listed from CL are the same guitar, just a different add and too be honest, that price is suspiciously low. As for will they continue to go up in price? No one knows, I would say if you see one at $1400 that is about tops in price unless you plan to hold onto it for decades! They are relatively unique but not rare, one year only build might add to the $$ later on down the road, but until some famous guitar player starts playing one...I think 500 Euro might be just an ok price...don't think you will make much on it if you plan to flip it. I paid $741 w/tax for mine. These were pretty much top of the line for MIM and pretty much still are (50 Classic Series).

FWIW

Thanks, T2. Interesting info. I think I'm gonna make a "stupid" (400) offer and wait to see what happens... :?

Got it...this guitar is the opposite of most women out there...it looks better in real life than in pics! So, unless I fall in love with this guitar it may be considered for sale in EU. I'll post some pics asap ;)
