I was wondering about the mim and mia versions of the strat with a flyodrose trem.

Does anyone own one of these.? could you tell me if the flyod is a real or linc. version.?
considering buying a mim version but trying to find out if the mim is worth buying, or any issues or major differences beside the pickups.

if you could help i would be greatful
thanks

I remember the old USA Floyd Rose Classic models had an Original Floyd Rose trem - these got renamed something like the "American Special Double Locking HSS Strat" (not to be confused with the current American Special lineup) for the last couple of years they were made. However, those were made from say 1992 to about 2003 or so; they have been long discontinued.

I'm not sure what Floyd is on the current MIM Standard and Blacktop models - it looks like an Original but it could be one made in Korea (like the one used on the Charvel Pro-Mod line) instead of one made in Germany.

John is right on that, it´s a Floyd made in Korea. They aren´t made in Germany by Schaller.
They are original Floyd Rose made in Korea (to the exact specs). They are absolutely great and I can highly recommend those.
I have a Charvel ProMod SanDimas(Japan) and the Floyd works absolutely flawless.

Cheers,
Robin

My Blacktop (MIM) has a Floyd Rose Special on it. Not a licensed by Floyd trem like my orginal Squier HM III did in the 80's. Yes my Blacktop has a micro-tilt system on it. I had considered upgrading my Floyd to a Floyd Rose Pro. But being as I have not had any tuning or stability issues with my present one, I am keeping it like it is.

They are nice too. The Fender Standard with the Floyd Rose does not have the recessed pocket for major dives but it will bomb. It does have a standard Floyd Rose on it. They also come in a few different colors than the Blacktops. The pickups are the same as the regular Standard HSS. They aren't bad, just not for me. But then again neither were the Blacktop pickups.

All Seymour Duncans. Neck is a Pearly Gates, the middle is a Vintage Stacked Tele, and the Bridge is JB.
