My sons hard rock band has asked me to set in on a couple of songs! We are going to play Revolution by the Beatles and In the Sunshine of Your Love. My little 30 watt cube isn't cutting it during our practice. The gig will be in a local bar. I will be playing a Jeff Beck strat. Any suggestions for an amp/pedal to get the right tone would be helpful. I've be thinking of a blues deluxe reissue before this came up, maybe I could put a pedal in front of it to get the proper distortion?

thanks

Overdrive pedal.....also believe "Sunshine of your love" used a wah. Since you're looking for british tone, a Marshall would probably do you better, but I do love me a Fender amp and can normally get what I want out of one tone wise with some tweaking.

A cheap overdrive pedal that is like a tubescreamer is a delta lab overdrive and also Digitech's Bad Monkey. Go to your local guitar store and try them out.

You can't go wrong with the Blues Deluxe RI. I picked 1 up back in Feb. and I love it. With a couple pedals you can get TONS OF TONE out of it.
