yes its fine. i have a mexican strat which also has 2 different types of lettering on the number - i brought it brand new. i think they use the first half for anything made in mexico, then the second half relates to the particular model ?

Yes it is fine; as I mentioned in my post Fender is doing the font thing to make sure the prefix that indicates the location and year of manufacture (the "MX10" on your guitar) from the other digits of the serial number.

The "FSR" means just that - it was part of a special run for a retailer. Fender never puts info on them up onto their website.
