I'll second the photo request because people do fake the serial numbers. However, the "MX10XXXXXX" format is a legit Fender serial number format.

I will also say this - those "guitar dater" sites are becoming almost worthless because they have not been updated.

Fender changed their serial number format in 2010 and these sites have yet to catch up - over 2 years after these changes were made. As of 2010 the Made in Mexico Fenders began using a format with the letters "MX" followed by the last 2 digits of the year ("10", "11", etc.). Since MIM Fenders change their serial numbers roughly mid-year (say June/July timeframe) they began using "MX10XXXXXX" serial numbers in mid-summer 2010; then moved to "MX11XXXXXX" numbers in mid-summer 2011, and will begin using "MX12XXXXXX" numbers sometime this summer. Also Fender no longer uses an "S" prefix for their MIM Artist Series guitars like the Jimmie Vaughn, Robert Cray, etc. - for example a Cray built from mid-2009 through mid-2010 would have had an "SMZ9XXXXXX" number, but one built after the middle of 2010 would have just had an "MX10XXXXXX" number.

It is actually worse for USA-built Fenders; when Fender ran out of the "Z9XXXXXX" decals (the 2009 decals) they first switched to numbers that just started with a "10", so they would read "10XXXXXX" - and the "10" was virtually the same font as the other 6 digits. That system only lasted until about March/April when they began using numbers that started with a "US10" (so they read "US10XXXXXX") and they made the "US10" part somewhat bolder and a slightly different font so they stand out. For USA Fenders they also dropped the "S" from the Artist Signature models and they dropped the "D" from the American Deluxe models.

The "guitar dater" sites really do need to catch up; USA Fenders have recently been shipping with "US12XXXXXX" numbers and we will soon see MIM Fenders with "MX12XXXXXX" numbers.

Sorry; rant off//

The serial number dating sites aren't all that dependable.
The serial number people use to date their instrument is generally on the neck, so all this really does is tell you where and when the neck was made. doesn't help to properly identify the authenticity, it could still be a partscaster.

The guitar dating sites have never been useful for dating the 52' Tele reissues.

Diaz it all looks fine to me. Nothing about it looks like it's a fake. I'd guess at it being made in 2010.

I agree with nikininja. It's real and most likely a 2010. My 2011 serial number start with MX11. You guitar looks a lot like the Roadhouse Deluxe except for the pick guard. It looks identical to mine except for the pick guard.

The serial number looks a little suspect. The font of the last 5 digits is different from the first five characters. I've never seen that on a Strat.

Seen mixed fonts on many Strats over the years - even my '92 Plus (which I know damn well is genuine!) has a different font for the first couple of digits. Perfectly normal.
