I have the oppurtunity to pickup one of these for a descent price, but something stands out to me as a bit odd, I can post some pics later if req. but hopeful that someone can answe my question.

By serial number it was made in 99-00, and in doing some research I came across a reference that back then this came with an 8 hole pickguard whereas now it is 11. The guitar I am looking at has an 11. The neck seems right but the question is was a new pickguard put on, a new body put on, or did these always come with an 11 hole guard?

Also is it normally a mint green one or white on these? The rest of the guitar seems bang on for what it should be.

With a guitar that is 13 years old, anything I should be looking for with regards to excess fret wear? Never worn out frets so I don't know.

The MIM Classic '60s guitars all came with a 3-ply 11-screw pickguard in mint green. These features were a hallmark of the original early '60s Strats.

Pics of the guitar in question...I am really just trying to make sure it is actually what the vendor says it is...I believe it is a Classic Series '60s Strat as he says just want some other opinions to confirm my thoughts.

It looks just like my home-built '63 clone in CAR......

I substituted a parchment pickguard for the stock mint-green type.

And no, the middle pickup is not RP/RW on these guitars as they come from Ensenada.
