i ended up with one of these on accident the other day due to a guitar center listing error. they used a photo of the 3ts deluxe player on the listing on their used site and sent this. i've got the amber one.

has anyone found out about how many of these there are in the usa?

anyone switched it to a sss yet? im not liking the humbucker much with any of my favorite preset effects that i love so much with my squier affinity or agile les paul copy.

would using the mid boost with regular singles create so much hum that it would make noiseless nesicary? i though about just buying a bridge vintage noisless and a PG to try it out.

this thing has got to weigh close to 9 lb's btw. im used to only feeling that much weight when i pick up a les paul.

Just got one of these for Black Friday a few weeks ago...Got a hell of deal. it was marked way down.

FENDER HSS STRAT NOISELESS ACTIVE PICKUPS TBX MIDBOOST --Natural Wood finish..

Love the guitar. Its the best gutiar Ive ever owned -- but thats not saying a whole lot.

It plays perfect after a setup. Very heavy guitar weighs a ton.

I just have a Fender Mustang 1 Amp and I think for this guitar to shine with its pre-amp and midboost, it needs to be run through a tube amp --Am I right on this?

I do have it dialied in with 2 presets on the Mustang to have a nice Pink Floyd Pulse or Pink Floyd Wall Sound..

The preset I had for clean Pink Floyd sound for Coming Back to Life sounds muddy on this guitar unless I dial the volume way back, and then i lose some of the tone. So not 100% satisfied with the clean tone through a Mustang.

So now for my questions:

What does the TBX Mid Boost Do? Should i be using it at all? Only on certain positions, like maybe the bridge or neck? I find anymore than about 50% turned up on the bridge with the volume down to 8-9 is a sweet spot for lead.

I dont play gigs, but I do want to start doing some hobby recording in apt. So I need an attenuated small tube amp-- any suggestions? Or should i go with a specific modeling amp? My sound and play style is much like Gilmore

I don't mind the Mid-boost Circuit, but I don't like it with the humbucker. It doesn't need it. I also didn't like the floor model I tested because I couldn't turn it off.

it is great once you get the hang of it. dont let the battery get low or it will act weird on some notes and fine on others.

yes this guitar is much better on a tube amp (i have blackstar HT-5, mustang I, and mustang III) if you like adjusting at the guitar rather than amp this guitar is great for that. clean tones will need vol rolled back because the mid boost is always on a little bit even with the knob cranked off and that adds a little drive/dirt. give it time and i think you'll like it. i cant comment on the tbx tone knob though since previous owner removed it from mine and installed a normal tone pot.

pickup height is sensitive with this guitar also. one turn of a screw driver can really change the sound so your pickup heights might need toyed with.

i got mine on accident (gc shipped wrong guitar) and hated it at first but fell in love with it before ups could come back to pick it up and worked it out with gc to keep it. quality is way up there. easily on par with my american standard.
