Hey all- i am picking back up on an ongoing project on a strat im building. My first attempt at anything more serious than changing a pot or something. i was looking online and came across a site called guitar fetish. their prices seem very reasonable, and i was wondering what, if any, exfperiences you guys have had with them. i was thinking of ordering some pots, caps, pickups, and the like. its going on an older squier, so this is more for the experience and novelty than to have as a main guitar. im possibly thinking on upgrading necks too if anyone has had good experience with them. thanks for your time.

hey there, I have bought a set of their 60's overwound pups and their brass tremolo block. These guys have very good customer service and the parts are actually pretty darn good. I would recommened them.

Hey Boston Man,

yep, if you're gonna get new pickups and pots, just make sure you got good comprehensive wiring diagrams.
Might as well get a new 5-way switch too while you're at it, because the ones I've seen that come out of Squiers are not what you'd typically see on a standard Fender diagram.
(save you some continuity-checking time.)

Also, you may have to open the holes in the pick-guard a little to accommodate your new pots.

As for necks...I plea "clueless".

I've got good stuff from guitarfetish as decent prices.
No complaints.
I've found that http://www.darrenriley.com/fenderparts.htm
has a rockin' selection of parts right down to screws and bushings.
And he ships (seemingly) within minutes after you place the order.

Good luck, it's gonna be fun.

Hey bro,
gfs' stuff is crap imho. especially their pups.

check out http://www.guitarelectronics.com

I deal with them most of the time. They are cheap, fast shippers, and they have quality stuff most importantly.

I did a complete LP gut & rewire with 2 Bourns 500K Extra-Firm pots, Belden wire, Sprague Tone Cap, Switchcraft jack & switch and copper shielding tape. Got it all from them for about $22 shipped. Improved the sound of my Les Frankenpaul tenfold. The Belden wire is great stuff. 26ga but the shielding is really nice and thick. I'll never use anything else.

Best part is they have a billion free wiring diagrams on their site for just about any imaginable setup you'd wanna do.

For Strat necks ya gotta got to Warmoth. A bit pricey but they do quality work. You can build any neck you want. Freakin' awesome!!
