Doing a sound check with a new guitar I just finished putting together. I wired up the Fender Standard Stratocaster with some Dimarzio Area Pickups and 250k pots. The lead guitar is with the Area 58 in the neck position and it is going through a 1993 Fender Blues Deville with no effects in the chain, but a little reverb from the amp. The Blues Deville has four tens in it. Two Ragin Cajuns and two Eminence Legend 105's.

I miked it with a sm 57 close and off center and also a MXL 2003 condenser about two feet away from the amp.

Here is a link to the wiring kit I used..

I have a standard MIM HSS strat with two DiMarzio area 67's and a PAF Pro in the bridge. I love the tone on this guitar and will probably never part with it.

How is the PAF Pro? I was thinking of putting one in my MIM HSS strat... Do you still use a 250k pot?

I love my Paf Pro. I know it's usually a neck pickup, but it's moderate output doesn't blow away the area 67's. I use the stock factory pots. Again the purpose is to not overpower the area 67's especially in the 2 position when the paf pro is split with the middle pickup. The pups seem very balanced with the paf pro between crunch and quack. I plugged in through my buddy's 64 princeton and the tone is one of the most veratile i've ever had in a strat. the paf pro breaks up a little quicker than the area 67's and plays well with pedals.

If the paf pro isn't your thing you may want to look at the andy timmons at-1 by dimarzio. I believe it would work nicely in you hss strat.
