Hi guy,

Here are 2 small videos I made with a Fender Elite 1983.

It was great to test it.
Hope you'll have fun too :))

Salut à tous,

Voici deux petites videos d'essai d'une Elite de 1983.
Un régal à jouer.
Seul petit regret : le vibrato. Difficile à manier

You're quite correct about the freeflyte tremolo, it's a PURE DESIGN DISASTER... for several reasons!

First, it simply doesn't sound good - it lacks sustain and has a weak tone generally. Second, it's a pig to restring! The ball ends are difficult to keep hooked into their slots while you wind on at the other end, although you can get the hang of it. And third, they have a failure problem - the metal bracket that holds the springs underneath (and which is pressed on by the tension adjustment screw) is too weak and has a tendency to bend and can even crack, especially if the guitar has been set up with very heavy strings and/or the trem adjusted very stiffly.

I had a 1983 Elite and had no problems with the trem at all. I had it decked and didn't use it, but I loved the top load feature and it would sustain forever. My only problem was not being able to find replacement parts.

That is some nice stuff.

Not a lot of trem action in the videos, in fact, the two guitars have no trem arms attached.

The soloing is done on the 1983 gold Elite Strat. The rhythm is played on what I believe is a 1974 or 1975 walnut colored Strat. That's a great clean rhythm sound, man!

Is "Mars" the name of the song? What's the name of the band?

You're not far from the truth. It's a 1979 stratocaster.
It sounded great but I had to sell it because it was too heavy to play on stage with.

I replaced it by a Gibson "The Paul" 1979 too.

Here's a small video with this new guitar + a Vigier (solo)
