No mate, he's on Rory's strat. Rory's brother lent it him for the Hammersmith Apollo gig in October, that Ceri kindly treated me too.

It looks like it could be that exact gig. Though it's not making my ears bleed with volume via youtube. Incredibly loud gig.

Yes, as Nick says, that is not a Rory Strat, it is THE Rory Strat. And it does indeed look like the show Nick and I saw in London last autumn. Here's my photo of Joe doing the same number the following evening:

I went both nights and each show he did the first three numbers on Rory's Strat. Which was more than he played on any other single guitar the entire set, if memory serves. That man must travel with a whole truck just filled with guitars, seeing how many he got through!

Cheers - C

I'm going to go see Joe this evening, in Beverly Hills. I can't wait. I go to my guitar lesson and then straight to the show. It should probably be the other way around.

Love Joe's playing but I don't get it. Shouldn't he sound like Rory and not Joe?

I miss Joe playing Strats. Fender missed the bus with him. Regardless of the brand Joe plays you can tell it's Joe playing. 8) That must have been quite a treat to see him live...

It was stolen and found in a ditch a week later, he was very happy to get it back.

Wow, I hadn't heard about that concert before. It sounds like Joe was quite excited to play Rory's Strat.

Classic.

Classic.

I believe the Gallagher family were in the audience one or both nights. Joe saluted and thanked them when he'd played the three numbers on the Strat.

I guess if you own a famous guitar like that then lending it out to top players is a good way to get VIP tickets to gigs, and probably the after-show party too.

Cheers - C
