Could someone explain too me this, Do most Strats have a hard time having "killer tone in C#" ????? Because this one has killer tone EVEN in "C#!

It's curious how C# is a very underused key signature. That is surely to do with how notoriously poor the tone in C# is on a Strat. The few songs that are in C# all turn out to have been written on an Epiphone Wildkat, which famously doesn't sound good in any key except C#.

Heck, I can't even play it: I can do C and D but I don't even know where C# is on the fingerboard.

Maybe I'll email the Ebay seller and ask him. Sounding good in C# obviously explains the otherwise inexplicable price being asked for this absolutely ordinary modded Strat.

Cheers - C

The C# reference is to Zak Wyldes constant tuning to Eb. On the song No More Tears, he drops the low Eb string to Db/C#.

Not easy to have a guitar that will alternate between a low tension and a tension near what it should be on the low strings. Must be a lot of relief in that neck.

Seems like the only time if play in a more uncommon key is B Flat with playing with some wind instruments like a SAX. Of some old Jazz tunes. But H# is really hard, well in fact H is really hard, not even being sharp, but then I am not too sharp my self so I get pretty flat trying to play it.... :o

Well I've always played H as Bbb: it seems more straightforward to approach it that way.

And an easy way to think about the scale of H# is that it's the same as F##minor, though obviously with the root in a different place.

I hope that's made it simpler for someone?

Cheers - C
