Hi,
This is my first post. I'm from Argentina... sorry for my english!
I've just bought a 2007 Am Std Stratocaster sienna sunburst.

The person who sold me this guitar told me that the truss rod have been replaced and the skunk strip rebuild, because he installed a simple truss rod with dipstick which size is slightly different. Then, he lacquered again the neck back and headstock.

As for a "repaired" guitar, I have my doubts for its originality.

Can you determine if that neck is original to the body? The neck has the correct kind of serial number to be MIA. Nice guitar!

Thank you very much.
Anyway, I can't confirm if that neck is original to the body... I bought it just as it is.

Thanks Mike. I'm pretty sure the saddles are original. Maybe the picture doesn't show them as good as it necessary.

This is a closer look:

As a fact, it says "Fender" on it...

The saddles on the American Strats were changed recently to the stamped steel versions that you have. Looks fine.

it looks original to me.

The only thing as others have pointed out is figuring out if that is the original neck that belongs to the body. It looks right and could very well be an authentic American strat neck but the question of if it's the one that body left the factory with.

If it's at least an authentic neck attached to an authentic body, which it appears to be, I don't think there's much to worry about. The only reason it would ever matter is if for some reason a 2007 Am Std strat becomes highly collectable. Then a collector would want at the very least for the neck to be of the same period as the rest of the guitar.

Remember Clapton's Blackie strat was pieced together from multiple strats - he took the body from one, the neck from another and the pickups from another, etc. to put together his ultimate strat.

Hi,
How can I confirm the neck belongs to the body originally?
For the rest of your comments, 100% agree!
Thanks!
