I'm curious how much Fender AVRI '70s Stratocaster (ash body) weights. Is it heavy? What kind of ash is it made of- northern or swamp?
Unfortunately, I can't find this guitar in any of the nearby stores.

I've only handled a pair of them on separate occasions and I didn't have a scale with me. However, the first instrument felt comparable to an AmStd Strat -- around eight lbs. The second guitar was substantially heavier -- closer to a LP standard (ie: 9.5 to 10 lbs).

I'm betting that FMIC is using northern ash, which would account for the variances.

Hi Krzik: there's no precise spec weight for a model of guitar, if that's what you're asking. There's heavy ones and light ones from all parts of the catalog. They're made out of a variable organic material, after all.

You just have to try several and find the one that feels and sounds how you like.
