Made a big mistake today .... visited a Guitar Center and let without buying a new guitar, absolutely kicking myself black and blue. Played a CAR SSS Standard Strat MIM with a black pickguard and maple neck.... I have not seen that particular combination before, it played beautifully acoustically and clean, but it sounded a little glassy on OD (new Bugera tube) but I figured that 90% of the treble sheen was from the amp rather than the guitar. I was pressed for time and my head wasn't in the game. Went back an hour later, with the intention of making her mine, only to see some lucky lad queuing with his Dad to get it. Stone the crows!!!

Quick question...is this combination generally available of is it a GC special?

They couldn't answer me at the store and there is no sign of a similar config on the GC web site or anywhere else for that matter. I want one!http://www.fender.com/community/forums/posting.php?mode=post&f=6#

why not check with some of the online stores such as sweetwater, ams, musicians friend- or even call the g.c. number for an answer. someone has to know.

i know how frustrating it can be. i missed a screaming deal on a used peavey tube amp at g.c. by about 10 minutes. arghhhhhh

Tried just about everywhere in the last 48 hours - four diffierent GCs, a pair of Sam Ash and a couple of independent suppliers PLUS every web page out there with a hit of CAR Strat ..... called 3 more stores and the manager of the store I saw the wee beasty, all seem to think it was limited FSR. Oh Well, I suppose it's good job I already have a decent strat ....
