Morning everyone.

Major Fender fan here. As long as I've played electric guitars, I've never found anything to beat the combination of looks, tone, feel & versatility that Fenders offer. For me, they truly are the best guitars in the world.

Right now, I own a MIM Palo Escrito tele, a '76 sunburst hardtail strat, a 2008 USA standard sunburst strat & I've just picked up a 2007 USA Olympic white r/w strat. Also have a Parker P-38 & an LP standard, but meh!

This last strat I have plans for. I've bought a set of Jeff Beck hot noisless pups, an S1 switch & a 5 way super switch. Also fitted an LSR nut, so essentially, I'm building a Jeff Beck strat. I'm ready to go, but I need a wiring diagram for the Jeff Beck model.

Does anyone know if it's available? or will I need to fall back on something like the USA deluxe diagram? Thanks in advance guys.

Thanks Alan,

Looks like my error since the JB strats are not S1 switched. I'm content to follow the USA deluxe diagram, can someone tell me the significance of the third wire on those pups for the purposes of wiring my JB noiseless hot pups, which have two wires per pup?

Probably has something to do with phasing the pickups.

Sorry to be a pain, but I'm wondering if I've cocked up here...As far as I can tell, Fender only manufacture S1 switched guitars with three wired pickups. i have Jeff Beck hot noiseless with two wires. Can I still use the S1 switch with these or do I need to rethink the wiring?

Howdy!

I have a set of Fenders Hot Noiseless pups wired to the pre 2010 S-1 Switching System.

Just ignore the additional ground wire and you'll be fine!

I've made a diagram that's a bit easier to work from but its currently on my other PC (which is in bits at the moment). If you can wait a couple of weeks I can post it here should you need it.

Hope this helps & best of luck! :D

Fantastic, I've got a bit of direction. Look forward to the diagram, thanks Andy.

I think Martian cooked up a "recipé" that will interface a set of 2-wire pickups to the S-1 system. Give him a shout and he should be able to point you in the right direction. Remember though that the volume pot/switch used with the S-1 system is 250k and you may need a 500k or even a 1 meg with the Vintage Noiseless pickups.

HTH

Apologies for the late reply!

I hope this may still be of some use...
