Nothing wrong being a lefty dude.....well from what i see there's like only 2 color options for the Deluxe models...whereas the Standard has a whole range of colors.Well if you are particular about the colors then go for the Standard bontempo.. :D

Jimi Hendrix...Coco Montoya...Albert King...all lefties and excellent guitarists so don`t let that bother you. Just decide on the model and color you want and play it as much as you can.

I just bought an American Deluxe about a month ago and I love it. There are more than just two colors for this model. I think there are about give colors. I chose the Chrome Silver model with black pickups and dials.

One of the selling points for me with the Deluxe is the S-1 switching system. I've seen people either love the S-1 switching system or hate it. So....that seems to be a personal choice. For me, I love the S-1 switching. It doubles the sounds that you can get from the guitar. I play the guitar through a Fender tube amp and it sounds fantastic. I also love the locking tuners.

So what it comes down to.......is what YOU like. If it's possible, I'd try both at one of your local music stores and which ones does the job best for you. But...being a lefty....I don't know how many lefty guitars your music store might keep in stock for you to try. Maybe take a right handed friend along to play the guitars for you, so you can hear what they sound like.

I'm also left handed, but I learned to play right handed, from the beginning, so that I would be able to pick up any guitar and play it.

Anyway.....I love my American Deluxe. I think I made the right choice out of all the guitars I was thinking of buying.

Both models play great, the Deluxe just comes with all the options and each model comes with different pups :)

You're lucky. If I were a lefty, I'd get a right handed strat and change out the nut for an LSR and let it rip!... but alas, I'm right handed.

Been there, done that. It just doesn't look right and you do lose the comfort in the upper frets....why not buy a lefty!!!

check out musiciansfriend.com they have a blem usa deluxe lefty for 1024.... says it has minor scratches... i bought my 00 usa standard for 650 as a blem in 2001 ... never one stitch of problems... one scuff under the clear that looks like a wood tone thing... this was when they were 849 for the usa standards... slapped laces in it and called it a day... i am very tempted to talk my wife into letting me buy the strat with promises to sell mine.. but she knows i wouldnt do it... lol.......
