Will the "Ash Tray" Bridge Cover fit on the American Vintage Strat Strings-Through Body Hardtail Bridge such as found on the Robert Cray Stratocaster?

As long as the bridge is vintage spacing, yes.

Did the ashtray cover fits the 2-point USA Std & Deluxe (locking and non-locking) bridges?

No because the spacing is different. I've done a lot of research on this and it only fits on all the American Vintage stuff and none of the newer stuff.

Correct, BW93.

The cover was Leo's brainchild and it only fits the Strat as he designed it.

"... it only fits on all the American Vintage stuff and none of the newer stuff."

Just to be clear -- it doesn't fit newer designs like the narrow MIM Std or the MIA 2-point bridges. But it does fit on past and present reissue hardware, not just the American Vintage. The MIM Classic Series and most MIM Deluxe Series have vintage spec bridges that are compatible with ashtrays. Some MIJ RI bridges have vintage dimensions.

Ashtrays can be bent to fit MIM Standard bridges. If you squash in the sides of the ashtray it'll hold onto the sides of the saddles as it's intended to. But to my eyes it looks noticeably squashed -- like it got stepped on or something. But from 10' away it looks fine.

On the 2-point bridges, the rear lip (where the intonation screws anchor) extends across the full width of the bridgeplate. To fit a cover on those, you need to file a large notch in the cover so it can straddle the rear lip (plus squash in the sides for the narrower saddle spacing). Again looks weird close-up but ok from a distance.

Hello Arjay, I have a dummy question: What kind of neck is that. It looks to me that the Rosewood neckplate has been inlayed (layed in?) the maple neck in stead of glued on top.

Thanks,

It's a CIJ '65 re-issue from 2005, with a bound fretboard (like a Gibson or a Gretsch) from Fender-Japan's "Premium Vintage" line. I'm not certain that they make these anymore.

That was quick, thank you for your answer, I did not know Fender made this kind of neck for de Strat too. I'll look after it to learn some more about it.
