2010 MIM standard HSS. Love it !....BUT…

It’s got those original pickups in it which are configured (more-or-less) to match string height.
In other words, the pole pieces have that basic “pipe-organ” height arrangement.
I had recently installed Noiseless in my Franken-Squier
and that’s when I became acquainted with proper pole-piece positioning technique.
So, now when I go back to my MIM, I notice G and B are a tad…ummmm…annoying.

Is it advisable, or even possible, to simply push the pole-pieces downward to get a proper bias?
Thanks,
david

Nope. The MIM Standard single coil pickups have two ceramic bar magnets glued to the bottom of the pickup and the the slugs glued to the magnets.

I have seen some players remove the pickups,
and file down the poles to get the equal volume they wanted from the strings.
recommended not sure, maybe someone else can answer that, but i see no harm if done correctly.

The key word is "correctly". Take off too much metal and you can't put it back. Best to leave well enough alone and look for different pickups.
