i saw a guy selling Yngwie Malmsteen fender guitar but this one said is made in japan
here what he write
(If you ever wanted to sound like Yngwie Malmsteen, here is your chance. This one is a rare Japanese signature model Malmsteen Fender Stratocaster, originally made in 1981, serial number SE900720. It has a scalloped fretboard for fast playing and the Dimarzio HS-3 pickups for a hot sound. The guitar is nicely worn in but plays well, however it is missing a tremolo arm. I still have the receipt from when I bought it over 10 years ago. $650 O.B.O.)
is just strange because first the date 1981 is wrong and Yngwie still unknow at this time and the serial number say made in usa
This guitar is from the Signature Series
made at the Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 1989
here the link for the kijiji ad

Anyone can add a scalloped fretboard to a Strat-like body. There is a good chance
that it's a partsocaster...be careful.

I agree with simus35. In '81 Yngwie Malmsteen was 18 and didn't get noticed until '82. I can't imagine Fender making a signature model for an unknown artist.

Read this link. I think that you will find it... enlightening.

I did some reading on the subject and the Fender didn't built YM Strat until '88 for USA and '91 for MIJ.

Serial looks to be an signature 89 model...
