Anyone own one?
I was hoping, by now, to maybe find a review/demo on Youtube, but no luck. No stores even remotely close to me have any plans on stocking one.
I'd really like to see/hear a review. The HSH configuration is something I might like.

This guitar uses a super 5-way switch to cut the inner and outer coils from the Twinheads. However the coil-tap/split wiring options are not mentioned in the specs sheet.

Personally I prefer HHH.

Even more strange, Guitar Center doesn't list them on their website, either.

I appreciate the info very much. They are available from ebay sellers, but I'm not buying a guitar I can't listen to before buying.

I saw the SSS version ("Limited Edition" engraved on the neckplate) in the local shop but didn't play it. It looks really nice..

Sellers on ebay are advertising this guitar as an FSR, which means that only 150 were made. Is that correct?

According to the store owner, it is a run of only 150.. Now I am thinking maybe I should consider it.. I gotta stay away from there....

I'd like seeing the Hand Stained Ash Strat fitted with three Twinheads, an S1 switch and a passing lane button for that full-blown humbucker crunch.

Fender produces Strats with HHH pickups only in the form of Custom Shop and Factory Special Run versions.

I own the mahogany/maple version, bought it from Sweetwater. The body finish isn't as good as pictures would lead you to believe. I like the color combo, the visual impact of the grain, it appears they just didn't spend that much time on the body finish. The rest of the appointments are typical American standard. The 5-way switch cuts the outer coils on the humbuckers with inner coils and mid pup engaged (positions 2 & 4).

With an HHH setup you'll have a greater range of tones as you cut the inner and outer coils from the middle humbucker in the aforementioned positions of the 5-way switch.

Having an S-1 switch and a trio of 2-way toggles installed would allow the player to use all three humbuckers together and obtain an endless variety of pickup combinations.

I have one, got it yesterday, and so far I LOVE it. I'm still tweaking the setup, but it plays beautifully. I traded in my high-gloss, sunburst 60th Anniversary American Standard Strat (traditional SSS pickups), and I'm not looking back. The neck and bridge humbuckers give me just the tone I was looking for, and I can still get that single-coil "quack" from the middle pickup. I'm not sure I like the mid-positions of the 5-way switch (not sure how they are mixing the humbuckers with the single-coil in these switch positions)... but the output level sure drops at those switch settings. If they had only included a single-coil tap for the humbuckers, this would be my perfect guitar.

The finish has been criticized earlier, but I love the hand-rubbed ash wood (no lacquer, just a hand-rubbed oil finish... this is real wood, and it looks/feels like it). There's even a knot in the body wood that gives it more character. I think this is the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned.

I'm having trouble tweaking out a little buzz with the G-string at the 13th fret (without setting action too high)... I might just need to buff down the 14th fret.

I spend a day driving to one of two stores in Colorado that had one (now there's only one)... it was worth it. This guitar is a keeper.

They do look very pretty. One of my local stores have them in stock. Very, very nice looking. The tele is as well.

Haven't had the chance to play them but I might have a go the next time I'm in.

:D i have stratocaster -mahogany brown stained
very light ash body great grain
got it from Sweetwater you can choos grain patterns since they have usually 4-5 copies in stock to choose from
I tried the amber stained strat today at guitar center-great sounds and grain pattern, very light body , but the neck -rosewood was polished satin and too thin exactly like they used a squier surfcaster neck like the one I bought some months ago with the 3 lipstick tube pickups
$999.00 is too much in my opinion for such a neck
I would have thought 699 or 799 would have been better due to skinny unfinished satin polished neck
