The push/pull pot has 3 lugs accross the bottomhorizontally and 3 lugs either side vertically. Can I take it that I only use the bottom 3 and ignore the others?

The three lugs across the bottom horizontally are for the POT ONLY aspect of the unit. The three lugs in two rows vertically on the upper part of the unit are for the SWITCH ONLY aspect. So, if you don't want to use the switch part of the push/pull pot and only the pot part, yes, you can ignore the upper lugs and just use the three across the bottom.

Just get the BareKnuckle Apache set

https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/main/p ... kup=apache

I've the Sultan set in my CS guitar and the Pete Green set in my Les Paul.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. Both sets of pickups fulfill their promise to the brim. I cannot find anything about them that is lacking. The Strat doing the Dire Straits sound. The Les Paul doing the Green god stuff.
Hank uses or did use Kinman pickups. Bruce Welch is listed on the Bareknuckle site as a user.

Hank Marvin used the S/Duncan and DiMarzios before the Kinmans. He only fitted the Kinmans to reduce the b/ground noise. For the modern Marvin sound these are what's required.
Thanks for your post anyway.

Hi martian,

The only problem I've got with the diagram is that on the Volume pot I do not have the thing like a junction box on it, so can the white lead from the bridge pup go direct to the first lug on the 5 way switch?

Also the black lead going from the first lug on the volume pot goes into the 'junction box' - can this go direct onto the top of the pot?

Repeat these questions with pictures.

Hi guys,

It is a Hank Marvin Autograph Custom Shop Stratocaster, fiesta red with gold hardware, first issued in 1995 at a cost of £2995 (then).

The kit 'under the bonnet' is as I've listed.

Can you help?

Are we talking Hank Marvin of The Shadows? Now that's a guitar tone I'd never hope to emulate.

+1

Pic's are always nice! :D

I reckon the answer to your first question will be "Yes".

Second question - "ignore that wire entirely".
