i am quite puzzled and confused
playing a MIM Fat Strat myself
which is Fender's lowest end Traditional Series
i never experienced breaking a string on my strat
i however experienced breaking a string on a Les Paul
i read Ibanez players break their strings often
never really see a Fender got a string broken in any concert video,
did you??

when i first started to play with tremolo
i did get tuning problem
but it was solved after using bullets end strings

I have had graphtech saddles on my Blackie for a long time & the strings never broke anymore, but..... so I just replaced the entire bridge with one from Callaham and the tonal difference was obvious. The steel Callaham saddles are heat treated (hardened, like a knife blade) and will not burr up & break your strings like the softer stock saddles & they let all that Great Strat sound come through.

I also traded the Lace pickups for Fralins & the stock switching & electronics for a vintage passive circuit using all Callaham parts. Now,
after 20 years, I have the Blackie I always wanted.

Eddie theres so many factors in string breakage its untrue. What works for you could be arsenic for someone else. I too never break strings on strats but do on guitars with stop tailpieces. Aside from obvious faults i think the majority of breakage comes down to technique and whether your technique works for a instrument or not.

Another suggestion is getting the same exact saddles used on the American Deluxe. You can get them new from Allparts for around $20. I put them on my MIM Std, and have been very happy with them. It is just me, but I prefer to stay with Fender parts when I can.
