Here it is finally.



I'm a huge fan of this model I have several. I've always wanted one with this finish, with a maple fretboard (HRR 50s).

Approximately 6 to 7 years ago, I found this model with this finish on Ebay and didn't notice the Buy It Now price of $425. I put it on my watch list and next thing I knew it was sold. I was kicking myself for weeks.

About 2 years ago, I found one for sale on Craigslist, except it was the rosewood fretboard version (HRR 60s). Since I thought I may never find the one I really wanted, I bought the one I found on Craigslist. Ironically, a week after I bought it, the one I actually wanted came up on Ebay, but it had several cracks in the fotoflame finish which is common for old fotoflame finishes.

So finally, just last week, the one I wanted and had been looking for, for years, came up on Ebay, and I pounced on it. I received it yesterday and the finish is in perfect shape.

The bad thing is, we are on a tight budget, I have to let go of the HRR 60's version I have, but I'm still very happy, I was finally able to purchase this one.

Congrats, great you finally found what you were looking for. I really like those Floyd trems (as much-maybe more- as the vintage trems)

It's a HRR50 or a US Special HSS FR?

It's an HRR50s. This model is an MIJ. It was a predecesor to the US Special FR Strat and the MIA Floyd Rose Classic Stratocaster.

The HRR50s became the basis for the Richie Sambora Signatures with the graduated MOP Stars.

I've heard that the CS had built a custom HRR50s for Richie in 1990. This guitar featured two Texas Specials (Neck/Mid), DiMarzio PAF Pro (Bridge), switchable Clapton active mid-boost electronics (25dB) with TBX/MDX tone controls and an active/passive push/push selector to turn off the preamp.

Here's the description:

"The Sambora Signature model is rooted in the custom HRR Stratocaster created for the artist by the Custom Shop in 1990."

Never saw an American-made HRR before.

Yeah, I read that somewhere too. I like his version, expecially the cherry sunburst ones. Not so crazy about the star inlays. Taaaaacky...
