Hey all, returning from bass to electric after more than a decade of not having an electric. Just bought one of these, more to avoid the standard run of the mill colors than the electronics.

Question: Did Fender ever make a TBX/stacked tone pot without the detent? My tone knob doesn't have the detent I remember on one of my old HM Strats (RIP). I haven't popped the hood on this one yet, but suspect it's just got a normal tone control.

Thoughts?

The TBX pot had always a detent since its inception in the early 1980s.

After all, you can get rid of the TBX and install a regular tone control. Eric Clapton no longer uses that feature on his guitars.

Some Strats such as the MIJ ST54-95LS do have the 25dB boost but lack off the TBX circuit.
