The specs for the American Standard have been updated on the Products page... Only price listed is for the new color, though... If the pricing is correct as it is shown now, the Jade Green Metallic Pearl is a premium color (i.e., extra cost)...

If anyone plays one with the Fat 50's let me know how they sound. I am considering getting them for one of my Strats.

I see prices for all models - and the Jade Green is the same price as the others. I still see an upcharge for Sienna Sunburst though.

Oh... and this is the new color. Someone posted a blue-ish one before - but it is in fact green. Looks similar to Cypress Mica if you ask me.

The Tele has given a Strat-style contoured back like the Deluxe without the binding on the top.

I had the chance to play the updated American Standards Monday. The Scottsdale, AZ Guitar Center got four Strats and two Teles. The Candy Cola Strat looked great.

I'm a fan of the Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups. I have a set in an American Vintage '61 Thin-skin Strat. They have enhanced bass response but still have the clear, ringing highs of Fender's other Custom Shop 50s and 60s pickups. They also have a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup for hum cancelling.

I like the pickup upgrade and I probably would have taken one home if I didn't have the AVRI Thin-skin.

Fat 50s were initially offered on certain CS Showmasters. These overwound 50s Strat pickups are the perfect compliment to the Duncan Trembucker pickup!

Hope the HSS will get also the same CS treatment with two Fat 50s and a Duncan Pearly Gates Plus as a replacement to the existing TexMex/Diamondback configuration.

I bought one this Tuesday. I had bought the Am Std Strat 2011 but there was an annoying buzz on the G-string despite correct tross rod and action specs. I returned the 2011 back to Guitarcenter and payed an extra $100 to get the new 2012. I really think there is a difference in sound and I guess it has to do with the pickups. They sound "hotter" and punchier in a good way, if you'd ask me. They have that nice breaking point into the crunch sound, when you turn up he gain on the amp. I am totally happy. I liked the sound of the 2011 as well but this is more what I was looking for in a strat. If it is something that I am not sure of yet is how the neck pickup actually performs compared to other strats. I have no strat at home to compare to, but maybe the 2012 is a little "darker" sounding from the neck pup. On the other hand I really like the 2 and 4 positions on the pup switch and I usually never use them on other strats. They have a nice almost Gibson SG sound if you turn the Tone knob down a glitch.

By the way I got the new Jade Pearl color.

Awesome choice in color. Since I am modding my Blacktop to be a pure Metal guitar I want to convert my Highway 1 back to SSS but want a more classic sound while keeping Fender parts on it.
